How to Calculate Gematria

Gematria calculation follows one basic idea: give every supported letter a value, then add those values together. The part that changes is the value table. In Simple gematria, A through Z are 1 through 26. In English gematria, those same alphabet positions are multiplied by 6. In Jewish gematria, several Latin letters use larger traditional-style values, so words can produce very different totals.

Capitalization does not change the value. For example, A and a are counted the same way. Spaces and punctuation are ignored, which means a phrase is calculated from its letters rather than from the marks between words.
